A synthetic organic contaminant (SOC) is a group of contaminants that includes pesticides, PCB and dioxin. For more information from Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), please visit: https://floridadep.gov/water/source-drinking-water/content/synthetic-organic-contaminants-and-their-standards.
FDEP requires all Utility systems to perform a test for SOCs twice every three years.
A sample was taken on February 27, 2018 and no SOCs were detected. The required test was performed twice in 2014 as well and no SOCs were detected.
Cocoa will perform the test in 2020 as required by FDEP.
