Charles McGrath has been a Volunteer Cop with the Cocoa Police Department for 7 years.  Many days you can find him helping kids to school as a Crossing Guard, which he has been doing with the City of Cocoa for over 6 years.

The Volunteer Citizens Observer Program (VCOPs) began in 1999 to enhance the police department's delivery of services by allowing enthusiastic, dependable, committed people to work alongside CPD officers.

Before he became a volunteer with the Cocoa Police Department, McGrath was often seen at special events in the City of Cocoa.  McGrath is also known as Parkchester Santa because of his many years as playing Santa Claus for children in the community over the holiday season.
McGrath is well known for his many charitable endeavours in the Cocoa community.  He is passionate about the community he lives and works in.  The City of Cocoa is lucky to have such a dedicated and passionate volunteer.

“Charles goes above and beyond with service for the citizens of Cocoa and he’s a tremendous help at the Cocoa Police Department,” said Ralph Perrone, Sr., Auxiliary Corporal, Cocoa Police Department.
