Training Program

The Field Training and Evaluation Program is based on an orientation phase and four phases of evaluation. The orientation phase will be a minimum of 80 hours. Phase one training consists of a minimum of 120 hours, phase two consists of a minimum of 140 hours, phase three training consists of a minimum of 140 hours, and phase four consists of a minimum of 80 hours. In phase four training, the trainee functions as a solo patrol officer. During each training phase, the trainee is evaluated and observed by a field training officer.

An accelerated field training and evaluation program exists for law enforcement officers with prior experience. Phase one training consists of a minimum of 60 hours, phase two consists of a minimum of 70 hours, phase three training consists of a minimum of 70 hours, and phase four consists of a minimum of 40 hours.
