The City’s drinking water utility currently serves over 85,000 accounts in Brevard County including the City of Cocoa, Cocoa Beach, City of Cape Canaveral, Port Canaveral, Sunrise Village, City of Rockledge, City of Titusville (wholesale customer), Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Kennedy Space Center, Patrick Space Force Base, and unincorporated communities including Merritt Island, Viera, Suntree, Port St. John and Canaveral Groves. Combined, the City’s water utility service area comprises roughly a third of Brevard County. The City’s potable water sources include both groundwater and surface water.
The City’s water treatment facilities include Wewahootee Water Treatment Plant (48-million gallons per day (mgd) pretreatment facility), the 60-mgd Dyal groundwater treatment facility, and the 12-mgd Dyal surface water treatment facility.
