MOBILE VENDORS

A new City Code regulating Mobile Vendors and Sales has been created and is in effect.  Here are some important facts you need to know

Authorized Locations: Mobile Vending is prohibited on municipally owned property, sidewalks, rights-of-way, and easements.   Acceptable zoning- commercial (C-N, C-G, C-W, CP, and Commercial Mixed-Use) Cocoa Village is not an Authorized/Acceptable zone unless connected under a Special Event.  A full list of acceptable zones is available when applying for a Business Tax Receipt.

All Vendors – Are required to obtain a Business Tax Receipt. excluding Mobile Food Vendors which must have State Required Certifications.

OTHER RESTRICTIONS:

*All signs, Awnings, etc. must be attached to the Mobile Unit

*No tents, Canopies, Grills, Fryers, etc.

* Wheels must remain attached

MOBILE VENDORS AND FUNDRAISERS

Authorized Locations: Mobile Vending is prohibited on municipally owned property, sidewalks, rights-of-way, and easements.  Acceptable zoning- commercial (C-N, C-G, C-W, CP, and Commercial Mixed-Use) Cocoa Village is not an Authorized/Acceptable zone unless connected under a Special Event.   A full list of acceptable zones is available when applying for a Business Tax Receipt or scheduling a fundraising. A Fundraiser must be identified, show authorization and except donations.  Fundraisers must have approval from the organization it intends to raise money for.

Fundraisers:  Public/Private Special Event shall mean any organized, temporary public or private celebration or gathering of people including, by way of example, events relating to athletic contests, carnivals, fairs, cook-offs, entertainment, dancing, music concert, dramatic productions, art exhibitions, parades, city organized events, and fundraisers (such as religious, charitable, patriotic or philanthropic events), including the sale of merchandise, food or alcohol, or any combination of the foregoing, which is permitted pursuant to section 2-402 of the city code.
